Fruit salad

1/2 pineapple
orange 
pear
banana
grapes
chopped dates
1 pc crystallized ginger chopped fine
lemon juice + honey

stew
1 large can chicken broth
1.5 lb stew meet (veal or lamb)
2 or 3 tomatoes
carrots, celery, corn, zucchini

Veal soup 1
  simmer veal, carrots, and celery in chick broth til tender
  add corn (pre cooked and taken off cob) and spinach (washed)
    and simmer til spinach is done (5min).

Veal soup 2
  simmer veal, carrots, and celery in chick broth til tender
  boil corn and cut  off cob
  cook 1/2 c barley
  saute mushrooms
  add zucchini (raw sliced), barley, mushrooms and corn to soup and 
   simmer til zucchini is tender

Irish soda bread
  make with part whole wheat flour and raisins


Custard

Preheat oven to 325
Scald 2 1/2 c milk
Beat 4 eggs with about 1/4 cup milk
Pour a little hot milk into eggs (while stirring)
Pour egg mixture into remaining hot milk (while stirring)
Add 2T honey, 1T vanilla, 1t almond extract
Pour into glass bowl
Grate a little nutmeg on top
Put in pan of hot water and bake at 325 for about 25 min

Artichokes
Trim bottoms
Bring 2-3 inches of water to boil, add powdered chicken broth (2T)
2 lemon wedges,  and artichokes.  Boil til just tender.   
 (around 20min for small ones, 40 min for large ones)

Apples
Wash, quarter, remove core, slice each quarter again
Put in deep corning dish in several layers
Sprinkle each layer with lemon juice and cinnamon sugar
Cover and bake at 350 til tender - around 45 min or more


Mrs. Fields Cookies ($200)
     
Cream together:         2 cups butter
                        2 cups sugar
                        2 cups brown sugar
     
Add:                    4 eggs
                        2 tsp. vanilla
     
Mix together in
separate bowl:          4 cups flour
                        5 cups oatmeal (put small
                         amounts of oatmeal in blender until it turns to
                         powder.  Measure out 5 cups of oatmeal and only
                         "powderize" that, NOT 5 cups "powderized" oatmeal)
     
                        1 tsp salt
                        2 tsp baking powder
                        2 tsp baking soda
     
Mix:                    All of the above
     
Add:                    24 oz. bag of chocolate chips and
                        1 finely grated 8 oz Hershey bar (plain)
     
Add:                    3 cups chopped nuts (any kind)
     
Bake on greased cookie sheet (make golf ball sized balls) and
bake about two inches apart.  Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 10
minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE.  Makes 112.
